[Softball] Hill Receives All-Conference Honors

Freshman Julia Hill received Second Team All-Conference honors from the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Hill split time in the outfield and infield for the Panthers holding down left field, second and first base and pitching when called upon. Her defensive efforts earned her a .924 overall fielding percentage, .920 in the CCAC.

The Panthers were defeated by Goshen in game one 13-1 but turned on the offense in game two earning 13 hits to take the final game of the season 3-0.

PNC played their final Chicagoland Conference games against St. Francis. The games ended with the Panthers losing both games 5-3 and 4-3.

Purdue North Central softball came up short against conference-leading Saint Xavier University Sunday in Chicago. PNC is now 8-35 on the season and 2-16 in the Chicagoland Conference while the #13 Cougars are 37-3 and 16-0.

Purdue North Central Softball lost a double header to conference rival Calumet College St. Joseph. The losses move the Panthers to 8-31 on the season and 2-14 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The weather has not been a friend to any team this spring. The double header against Cardinal Stitch University was moved three times before finally finding a home at Robert Morris University. Robert Morris was asked to host the double header because neither Stritch nor PNC had a playable field. "It works out for both of us because it's kind of in the middle", stated PNC Assistant Coach, Denny King, "Neither of us has to make a long trek and we get the games in which is the most important thing."

Poor weather conditions caused teams to drop out sending Iowa Wesleyan tournament directors scrambling to reconfigure the games. Because of the changes, Purdue North Central faced Mount Mercy University in double header action on the final day of the Iowa Wesleyan Tournament. Mount Mercy took both games, defeating the Panthers 9-1 and 2-0.

Purdue North Central headed Mount Pleasant, Iowa to play in the Iowa Wesleyan Sammons Classic Tournament. Weather conditions made it impossible to host all the games so the Panthers and the Tigers opted to play three games in two days.
