Men's Basketball - Sat, Dec. 11, 2010

Holland, MI - This Saturday afternoon the PNC men's basketball team faced Hope College in the consolation game of the Hope College Holland Sentinel Community Tournament.

The Panthers were out matched as the Hope College team shot 55.4% from the field, and having every player on the roster get into the scoring column. The Flying Dutchmen also had four players score in double figures.

 

The score was 53-27 at half time in favor of Hope College. The Panthers actually tied the Flying Dutchmen with 51 points apiece in the second half. However, the Panthers could never recover from the initial run that Hope College made.

 

The one bright spot on the weekend was Matt Demler. His play earned him a place among the All-Tourney team. Against Hope College he had a team high 17 points, and 3 rebounds, shooting 8-17 from the field.

 

"They shoot the ball extremely well. They're lengthy, and run the floor well. We didn't get out on their shooters good enough early," said Coach Schnatz after the game.

 

The next game up for the Panthers is CCAC DI Robert Morris. The game is set for Wednesday December 7, 2010 at 7 p.m. CST in Chicago, IL. Robert Morris plays its home games on the campus of Loyola Chicago.
