The Purdue North Central basketball team and head coach Matt Bush recently announced the signing of former Michigan City High School standout Sheriff Knight.
The 6'0 point guard averaged 11 points per game in his senior season at Michigan City High School. He also averaged 17.3 points per game, 5.1 assists per game and 2.3 rebounds per game at Indiana University Northwest in 2011-12 as a freshman. He averaged 30.8 minutes per game in 12 games, including 9 starts.
After taking a year off from basketball to focus on academics, Knight is excited to begin his career at PNC and Bush is thrilled to have him.
"We are very excited to have signed a quality young man and exceptional point guard to our program," said Bush. "Sheriff brings a toughness and athleticism that will help our team greatly."
The Panthers hope Knight can help lead the turnaround of a program that it's shares of struggles through the years. Bush was brought in to lead the program to new heights and he has accepted the challenge head on.
