
The Purdue North Central baseball team defeated Trinity Christian College 4-2 in a must win game for the Panthers Friday afternoon in Westville.
PNC must win their final two regular season games against Trinity Christian tomorrow to earn the final spot in the CCAC Tournament. Trinity Christian must win one game to earn the tournament entry. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Palos Heights, IL.
Senior Shane Prance led the Panthers with a complete game effort. Prance gave up 2 runs (1 earned) on 8 hits and 3 walks while striking out 10. He is now 5-5 on the season and improved his single season strikeout record at PNC to 87.
The Panthers overcame a 2-run deficit with 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th for the difference. TCC had scored single runs in the 5th and 8th innings to take the lead.
Senior Nate Hall led the way with 2 hits, 2 RBI and a stolen base while freshman Ed Moldenhauer added 2 hits. Junior Brad Dubois added an RBI and fellow junior Rich Myers had a clutch pinch hit double to drive in another run. The Panthers had 10 hits overall.
