The Purdue North Central baseball team is excited to announce their signing of freshman Catcher Erik Fetchko. Fetchko is a two year starter at Plainfield East High School and will look to be a strong back stop for the Panthers in the years to come. He has been listed as a top catching prospect by Prep Baseball Report Illinois for the class of 2012.
The 6'0 freshman has a strong arm with a 2.0 pop time and
has had a career .300 average at Plainfield East. Fetchko currently is batting fifth for the
Bengals and had a 4-4 day with four RBI against #4 Minooka.
"Erik has tremendous talent at a demanding position and we are looking very forward to him contributing in 2013 and beyond," stated Head Coach John Weber. Fetchko plays summer baseball for the Illinois Indians and will be getting a business degree here at PNC. The Panther's look forward to having the backstop for their future.
