
The Panthers tied the game in the third inning 4-4, but TCC responded back and scored two runs in the fourth inning and one in the seventh to push them ahead 7-4. PNC again tied the game in the ninth after pushing across two in the eighth and one more in the ninth to send the game into extra innings 7-7. The Panthers took the lead right away in the top of the tenth by tacking on two more runs but the Trolls were not finished and scored three in the 10th for the come-from-behind victory.
PNC scored their nine runs on 13 hits and committed one error while the TCC scored 10 runs on 16 hits with six errors. The Panther stranded eight base runners, the Trolls 15.
Overall, the Panthers were led by John Bugajski who had three hits (one triple), one RBI and a run scored. Nate Bryan and Ryan Frost collected two hits and one RBI each. Both of Bryan's hits were doubles and Frost pushed his hit-streak to 24 games.
The Panthers sent Larry Spore to the hill to start the game. He allowed four runs in one inning of work before being relieved by Tyler Nader. Nader threw 4.1 innings, giving up two runs on three hits while walking eight and striking out one. Trace Howard and Carl Chambers also pitched in relief for PNC. Together, they gave up four runs on seven hits with five walks and one strikeout in 4.1 innings of work. Chambers took the loss in extra innings for the Panthers.
The Panthers will play again tomorrow when they host Trinity Christian College in a CCAC doubleheader at 12 p.m.
