The Purdue North Central baseball team used an 18-hit attack to eliminate #4 seed Robert Morris 11-7 in the third round of the CCAC Tournament Thursday afternoon in Whiting, IN. The #6 Panthers, who have already defeated #1 Judson, will now take on #2 seed St. Francis in a 3 p.m. game Friday.

Sloppy baseball by the Panthers allowed Robert Morris to stay in the game as the Eagless managed just 6 hits and scored in only 2 innings. The Eagles scored 3 in the 1st, taking advantage of 3 Panther errors (5 overall). They added 4 more in the 6^th to cut PNC lead to 8-7. Robert Morris took advantage of 4 walks, a hit batter and an error in the 6^th to close the gap.

But PNC scored in every inning but the 8^th to control the game. PNC, the home team, scored single runs in the 2^nd, 4^th, 5th and 6^th innings and added 2 in the 1st and 7^th and 3 in the 3^rd. Besides the 18 hits the Panthers took advantage of 6 Eagle errors, 5 walks and a hit batter. The Panthers left 12 men on base and the Eagles turned 3 double plays.  

Senior Nate Hall (4 hits, HR, 3 RBI, SB) and junior Greg Toliver (3 hits, HR, 3 RBI) led the way. Sophomore Colin Willis (3 hits, 3 runs, 3 RBI, 3B, SB, BB, SAC), junior Ched Gaskin (3 hits, 3 RBI, 3B), junior Brad Dubois (3 hits), freshmen Ed Moldenhauer (HBP, 2 SACS) and Ty Taylor (hit, 2 BB's) and sophomore Kevin Gates (hit, walk) all contributed to PNC's offensive explosion. 

Senior Tony Hoolehan (5-6) earned the win, going 5.1 innings and giving up 7 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and 4 walks while striking out 6. Freshman Cody Jansen came on and recorded an out before senior Shane Prance came on for his 3^rd save of the year. Prance struck out 6 while giving up just 2 hits over the final 3.1 innings.
